中国目前是世界上第二大钻石消费国和第四大未加工的钻石交易国,对于大多数中国人来说, “永恒的钻石”却已经成为爱情象征。不少普通工薪阶层依然愿意用大价钱换来一颗钻石,为了在婚礼上让爱人戴上钻戒,既是为了象征,也是为了面子。世界最大钻石贸易商戴比尔斯(De Beers)CEO菲利普·梅里耶(Philippe Mellier)公开预测:2015年中国钻石饰品消费将达到670亿人民币的规模。

China is now the world's second-largest diamond consumer and fourth-largest rough diamond trader.For most Chinese, The eternal diamond has become the symbol of love. Many salaried people would like to buy a diamond of one carat with a large sum of money. To put on a diamond ring on the lover’s finger on the wedding, is a symbol but also for the vanity. CEO of the largest diamond trader DeBeers, Philippe Mellier predicted: in 2015, the consumption of diamond accessories will reach 67 billion Yuan in China.

被玛瑙改变的人生:红色小石头串起的灰色生态链

Life changed by red agate: grey ecological chain strung by red stones

美姑县原本只是四川省凉山彝族自治州内的一个贫困县,直到县里的一片不景气的铜铁矿区中发现了南红玛瑙。这种符合中国人审美的红色玛瑙曾作为贡品为当权者所追捧,如今亦被资本所追逐。人们抛下田地,开始挖掘这片脚下的财富。然而,根据国家矿产资 源的相关规定,这里并不存在合法的“矿主”。红色的玛瑙在这里串起了一条灰色的生态链。
Meigu County was a poverty-stricken county in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province until the red agate was discovered in a sluggish copper and iron mine of the county. This kind of red agate corresponding to Chinese aesthetics was sought after as a tribute by the potentates. It is appreciated by capital nowadays. People stopped farming and turned to exploring the wealth beneath the soil. However, according to the national regulations of mineral resources, there is no legal owner of mines. Those whose lives were changed by agates have strung a grey ecological chain.

发生在西湖畔的公交车纵火案彻底改变了一个家庭的命运。
Arson near the West Lake changed the fate of a family.

“我不想让儿子今后活在怨恨里。”柳建勋合上报纸深深地吸了一口烟。

在得知“杭州7·公交纵火案”主犯一审被宣判死刑时,这位在病床旁熬了半年的父亲却没能表现出将罪犯绳之以法的喜悦。201475日,一场发生在西湖边的公交车纵火案几乎摧毁了这个上海家庭的生活。下午5时,6岁的轩轩随母亲、外公一起乘上7路公交车,当车行至东坡路与庆春路交叉口时,同车的包来旭点燃了携带的化学品,顷刻间大火吞没了整个车厢。距离纵火点最近的轩轩不幸成为了最严重的受害者,全身大面积三度烧伤,面部几乎毁容。

Informed of the fact that the criminal of the '7.5 bus arson case' was condemned to death, the father who has suffered alongside the sickbed for half a year didn't show any delight of bringing the criminal to justice.July 5th, 2014, a bus arson happened near the West Lake destroyed the fate of the family from Shanghai.At 5 p.m., 6-year old Xuanxuan took the bus No.7 with his mother and grandfather. When the bus reached the junction of Dongpo Road and Qingchun Road, Bao Laixu on the same bus lighted the accompanying chemicals and the fire swallowed the whole bus in an instant. Xuanxuan was the closest one to the incendiary point, and became the most severe victim. He suffered from third-degree burn and disfigurement of face.
